International Casino Aberdeen Closed
An Aberdeen casino that has been operating for 12 years has closed down, it has been announced. They’re right that fewer people seem to be staying out later (Soul Casino was often the last stop after clubs had closed), but I think the decline is more to do with it being pretty shit out in Aberdeen these days and most people just not being that keen on rain and fights, rather than people worrying about drink driving laws. The Casino Cinema was the first Aberdeen cinema to introduce full-time cine-variety, occasionally supplemented by miniature revues, which lasted right up to the end of the silent era. Thereafter, hardly changed or upgraded, the Casino Cinema functioned very successfully, but was showing its age by the 1950’s, a plan to enlarge and modernise. Now, 11 casino venues in Scotland which support more than 700 jobs, in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, have launched a petition encouraging their customers to write to First Minister.
