  • This is a nice insurance bet I use on the come out with a hot shooter. If I am on a hot table with guy throwing number after number I will have ALL the come bets numbers with odds by time he hits the point. A term commonly called having the 'House Built' come numbers 4,5,6,8,9, and 1.
  • True odds payout would be $7.50, but since most casinos do not have 50 cent chips, the casino will round down and pay $7. Point is 6 or 8 Odds will pay 6-5. For example, if you bet $10 on the odds, you will be paid $12.
  • Each Come bet comprises a $5 Flat Come bet and a $5 Odds bet. The Odds portion is identified by the offset $5 chip on top of the $5 Flat bet chip. Also in this example, you have a new Flat Come bet in the Come box. The shooter’s next roll will establish this Come’s point.

Not as many people put free odds behind come and don’t come bets. Nevertheless, you can place odds behind both of these wagers.

Lay bets pay true odds, but player must prepay a 5% commission, based on the possible win. This works out to odds of 19-25 on the 6 & 8, 19-31 on the 5 & 9, and 19-41 on the 4 & 10. If the player selects 'keep bets working,' then all bets will be on for come out rolls. Otherwise, buy, hard ways, and odds on come bets will be turned off. Come Bets and Don’t Come Bets. A come bet is just a pass line bet that is made during a round of craps. It can only be made after a point is set. The process works almost exactly the same as with pass line and don’t pass line bets. The only difference is the nature of come and don’t come.

Come and don’t come bets have the same rules as pass line and don’t pass line, respectively. The exception, though, is that you must wait for a point number to be established before making eitherof these wagers.

Here’s an example of making a come bet.

  • The shooter rolls a 4, thus establishing a point
  • You make a come wager
  • The shooter’s next roll now becomes the come out roll for your come bet
  • The shooter tosses a 6, thus establishing a point
  • You take odds on the 6, meaning that your potential payout and true odds are both 6:5

Essentially, come and don’t come are like your own personal pass line and don’t pass line wagers. You can make these bets any time after the shooter’s initial point has been established and backthem with odds.

Many players stick to backing pass line and don’t pass line with free odds because it’s easy to do so at the start of a new shooter’s round.

But the methodology for backing come and don’t come bets with odds is almost the same. You just need to deal with more chaos since you’re doing so in the middle of a shooter’s turn.

When you do back come and don’t come bets with odds, place your chips above the respective space. Also, notify the dealer so that they don’t mistake your free odds for another come or don’t comewager.
